Giving a voice to those silenced for telling the truth.
In Venezuela, dozens of journalists and communicators have been imprisoned, forced into exile, or subjected to persecution simply for fulfilling their professional duty: informing society. Silencing these voices weakens democracy, spreads fear among independent media, and denies citizens their fundamental right to know the truth.
This initiative seeks to make visible the cases of imprisoned, persecuted, or exiled journalists and create international awareness of their situation. By telling their stories, we not only denounce injustices but also humanize their struggles and mobilize solidarity across borders.
Our strategies include:
International Campaigns – Coordinating awareness campaigns with global NGOs, human rights institutions, and media outlets to highlight emblematic cases and generate diplomatic pressure.
Audiovisual Productions – Developing documentaries, short videos, and digital storytelling projects that amplify the voices of journalists behind bars or in exile, turning their personal struggles into powerful calls for justice.
Media Partnerships – Partnering with international press, digital platforms, and advocacy networks to guarantee global visibility and continuous coverage of these cases.
Advocacy & Policy Engagement – Presenting cases before international organizations such as the UN, OAS, and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to demand action and protection mechanisms.
This project is in its development phase and requires strong partners—foundations, donors, and allied organizations—committed to defending press freedom in Venezuela. Supporting this initiative means standing with those who risk their freedom to uncover the truth, and ensuring that their voices are not erased by repression.
• Increase global visibility of cases of Venezuelan journalists facing persecution.
• Mobilize international solidarity movements that can pressure governments and institutions to protect freedom of the press.
• Create a permanent record of the threats and violence against journalists in Venezuela, strengthening accountability.
• Give exiled journalists platforms to continue their work and connect with new audiences abroad.
