Ensuring the survival of independent journalism in Venezuela.

Independent media outlets in Venezuela face one of the most hostile environments in the region. Daily censorship, legal harassment, lack of access to advertising revenue, and restrictions on basic resources have forced many outlets to shut down or migrate to digital-only platforms. Without structured support, their ability to inform the public and hold power accountable is at constant risk.

This initiative seeks to provide Venezuelan independent media with the financial, technological, and logistical support they need to survive and remain resilient. By developing sustainability models adapted to the country’s unique challenges, we aim to ensure that these outlets continue informing citizens despite censorship and authoritarian control.

This project is in its development phase and requires committed partners who believe in the urgent need to defend press freedom in Venezuela. Supporting it means investing in the survival of independent journalism, protecting truth-tellers under threat, and ensuring that Venezuelans continue to have access to reliable and uncensored information.

Our objectives include:

Operational Resilience – Providing logistical and advisory support so that media can adapt to restrictions, maintain continuity, and strengthen their independence.

Financial Sustainability – Designing and implementing economic viability plans, including alternative revenue models, crowdfunding strategies, and partnerships with international donors.

Technological Support – Equipping media outlets with secure digital tools to protect them from surveillance, cyberattacks, and forced shutdowns.

Capacity Building – Offering training in digital innovation, audience engagement, and new formats (such as podcasts, video storytelling, and investigative data journalism).

Expected Impact

Contribute to the defense of democracy by protecting the country’s last frontiers of independent information.

Strengthen the capacity of independent Venezuelan outlets to resist censorship and continue reporting verified information.

Foster innovation in journalism to reach new audiences inside and outside Venezuela.

Build long-term sustainability plans that reduce dependence on fragile or controlled advertising markets.
