Telling the stories of those who carry democracy across borders.

Millions of Venezuelans and Latin Americans have been forced to leave their countries due to dictatorships, violence, or corruption. Far from being silent victims, these communities have become vital actors in defending democratic values abroad. Their resilience, stories, and contributions represent powerful narratives that not only denounce authoritarianism but also inspire international solidarity.

This initiative aims to tell and amplify the stories of the democratic diaspora, creating bridges between exiled communities and global audiences. By humanizing their experiences, we highlight both the struggles they face in displacement and the positive impact they generate in host countries. These narratives reinforce the idea that defending democracy is a shared responsibility that transcends borders.

Our strategies include:

Storytelling Campaigns – Producing multimedia projects (videos, podcasts, and digital features) that showcase personal stories of resilience, from families who rebuilt their lives abroad to activists who continue their fight for freedom from exile.

Cultural Diplomacy – Promoting cultural and artistic initiatives that highlight the identity, heritage, and democratic values carried by diaspora communities.

Media Alliances – Partnering with international outlets and platforms to ensure that diaspora voices are amplified beyond local communities, reaching policymakers and global citizens.

Research and Data – Documenting the contributions of the diaspora in economic, cultural, and political terms, transforming statistics into narratives that strengthen their legitimacy and influence.

Advocacy through Narratives – Using these stories as advocacy tools in international forums, emphasizing the diaspora’s role as a living testimony of authoritarian failures and democratic resilience.

This project is still in its growth phase and seeks committed partners who believe in the power of storytelling to drive change. Supporting this initiative means investing in the visibility of millions who were forced into exile but continue to contribute to the global fight for democracy.

Expected Impact:

• Influence policymakers, opinion leaders, and global institutions by presenting the diaspora’s experiences as evidence of the urgent need to defend human rights and democratic freedoms.

• Generate international empathy and awareness about the causes and consequences of forced migration.

• Position the Venezuelan and Latin American diaspora as active defenders of democracy, not passive refugees.

• Strengthen diaspora identity and pride while empowering communities to use their voices for change.
