The Silent Threat of Self-Censorship

Self-censorship is one of the most dangerous forms of repression because it forces individuals to silence themselves out of fear. Journalists, activists, and citizens often withhold the truth to avoid persecution, creating an invisible barrier that weakens democracy and the right to information. At Free Media Foundation, we work to break that silence and empower voices to speak freely without fear.
